Why tooth powder? Just read the label on any major brand toothpaste, mouthwash or even some tooth powders. You'll see they are loaded with dangerous toxins and chemicals such as sodium fluoride (which is used in rat poison), triclosan, sodium lauryl sulfate, hydrated silica and xyitol. Also added is glycerin which over time builds up film over your teeth much like furniture polish. This does not allow for anything beneficial or re-mineralization to occur for either your gums or enamel. All of these common ingredients have been found to be harmful to humans.
We use Bentonite clay which has ability to bind and pull toxins from your mouth and body. Bentonite clay is also rich in minerals that can nourish teeth and gums. When rinsing your mouth the water will be brownish. This is from the bentonite clay. Don’t worry it does not stain. (See brushing instructions below)
*Baking soda gently polishes teeth and naturally whitens your smile and baking soda as less abrasive than most commercial toothpastes. We also use aluminum FREE baking soda.
*Sage - has been recognized by many cultures for its natural tooth-whitening abilities, known for its astringent properties. sage is perfect for oral health and whitening discolored teeth.
*Coconut Oil - Candida and Streptococcus are common residents in your mouth, These germs and their toxic waste products cause plaque accumulation and tooth decay. Coconut oil is a powerful inhibitor of a large variety of pathogenic organisms, from viruses to bacteria to protozoa, largely due to its naturally high lauric acid content, Lauric acid is considered a “healthier” saturated fat because it is a medium-chain triglyceride. Lauric acid is more easily absorbed by the body and has a host of other associated health benefits.
*Sea salt – Pure sea salt is full of tooth-nourishing minerals (magnesium, calcium, potassium, iodine, iron, manganese, zinc and selenium) , and is especially helpful in healing irritated gums.

*Celtic Salt- Celtic salt is rich in trace minerals such as magnesium, potassium, calcium, and iron, which contribute to its distinctive flavor and potential health benefits. Being unrefined, it is free from chemicals, preservatives, and other additives. This salt also helps with eliminating inflammation from gums.
*Cinnamon - Which has anti-bacterial properties and nutrients such as catechins which trigger the release of a hormone called insulin. It also contains phosphorus, potassium, magnesium and iron
*Cloves - Contains antiseptic and germicidal properties that help fight infections, relieve digestive problems and arthritis pain.
Trace Minerals - Helps maintain tooth enamel health.
Trace minerals can work in conjunction with macro minerals to help remineralize the teeth. Macro minerals are the minerals most people are more familiar with, like calcium and phosphorus
*Peppermint essential oil - Has antibacterial, antiseptic, and pain-relieving properties. In addition, it adds a cool, minty fresh flavor to this tooth powder.
*Tangerine Essential Oil – This essential oil is a powerful antioxidant
Beware of tooth powders that use Xylitol It is used as a sweetener additive yet even the ingestion of a small amount of Xylitol can cause severely low blood sugar, seizures or liver injury.
Due to the adverse laxative effect that all polyols have on the digestive system in high doses, Xylitol is also banned from soft drinks in the European Union for a reason.
(As always do your own research. Look up each ingredient that is in your tube of toothpaste. What you find might scare you.)
There is also room on the tooth that is on the label for each member of the family to put their initial so that everyone has their own container of tooth powder avoiding cross contamination if someone should be ill.
To use: Wet your brush and shake just a little. Press toothbrush into powder twice. You may wet the tip just a bit before brushing. Brush your teeth. Rinse brush thoroughly.
When you spit it will be brown. Don't panic - it is the Bentonite Clay added to draw germs from your mouth and will not stain your teeth. Just continue to rinse until water is clear. Leave toothbrush out to dry. It is always a good practice to buy a new tooth SOFT bristle brush every 2 to 3 months, AND always after any sickness.

Oh Baby Oh Diaper Balm

I have had many refer to how we formulate our diaper rash cream as "diaper ointment from the God's!" We believe, that less is not more, in this case. The more organic and necessary ingredients combined can help soothe and promote healing rather than just a few that do nothing but dry the skin out causing chapping and the flaking of skin.
Sweet Harvest Farms will never use any petroleum or mineral oil derivatives to include lanolin. The occlusive nature of petroleum and mineral oil can create a warm, moist environment for yeast and fungus to grow.
Likewise, we choose NOT to use Zinc Oxide that is normally found in many cosmetic products to include sunscreen and diaper cream.
Some fear zinc oxide due to the perceived health risks of zinc oxide nano particles entering the bloodstream. However, research as shown zinc oxide particles which are larger than 30nm are not absorbed by the body when used in lotions or creams. We just don't like taking that chance and we choose to use just a tad of 100% pure beeswax to help form a barrier against moisture.
Those little tiny beads you may see in your product occur most often in the summer months, but changes in temperature as the product solidifies can happen any time of year.
These concentrated beads of organic and unrefined Shea Butter WILL MELT as you massage the product into the skin.
We create the best organic and natural bath and body possible, and formulate our products without synthetic stabilizers.

Organic Oils of :
Shea Butter - Shea Butter works as an emollient that softens and hydrates skin. Because it contains several types of fatty acids — including Lineoleic, Oleic, Palmitic and Stearic acids — that help to improve the skin's natural barrier. Shea Butter also protects skin from damage from the environment like pollutants.
Coconut Oil - Is amazing at moisturizing dry skin, including in people with conditions such as eczema. Coconut Oil can also help reduce inflamation and promote wound healing. Coconut Oil also contains antibacterial, anti-fungal, and antiviral properties.
Aloe Vera - Researchers concluded that the use of Aloe Vera as a home remedy for diaper rash was “clearly supported” because of Aloe Vera's anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. We use 99% pure organic Aloe Vera.
Bentonite Clay – Helps absorb bacteria away from the skin. Bentonite is actually one of the most effective and powerful healing clay's. A recent study showed that around 93% of the infants who received the clay had improved rashes within 6 hours, with 90% completely healed in 3 days.
We use organic Bentonite Clay that has been tested for heavy metal contamination and microbials because you should only use the purest, 100% raw, unrefined Bentonite Clay that has no additives, binders, excipients, fillers, preservatives, or ANY chemicals in it.
Rose Hip Oil - Has anti-inflammatory and healing properties.
Chamomile Oil - Is known for its wound healing, including sores and inflammation.
Vitamin E- Is of course moisturizing, wound healing and reparative.
Rosemary Extract - A strong antioxidant.
Calendula Oil - Is often used on skin to keep wounds clean and help new tissue to grow, especially when skin is exhibiting signs of tenderness, redness, or inflammation.
Jojoba oil - Is actually a wax ester with almost exact properties to our skin's own sebum. This means the "oil" is able to penetrate deeply, reaching below the top layer of skin for maximum nourishment.
Yarrow Oil - has anti-inflammatory and healing properties.
Tea Tree Oil - Tea tree oil contains a number of compounds, including terpinen-4-ol, that have been shown to kill certain bacteria, viruses, and fungi, preventing infection, and promoting healing.
Pure Beeswax - Helps to keep formula melded and unwanted moisture away from skin. We use a pinch of beeswax instead of Zinc Oxide.
Sweet Harvest Farms handmade organic bath and body products are non-GMo, Soy FREE, DO NOT contain Parabens, Sodium Lauryl Sulfates, Phosphates, harsh Chemicals, Mineral Oils or Petroleum by-products of any kind
How to use: Clean affected area with cool or tepid water using Oh Baby Oh Organic Soap. Gently pat dry area with paper towel and throw towel away. Always apply with clean dry fingers/hands. DO NOT put damp fingers/hands into ointment or put fingers back into ointment to get more ointment without cleaning fingers thoroughly first.
Remember, You need just a tad -literally, so this jar packs a punch and will last a very long time!
When raising my babies I found that some level of diaper rash, no matter how hard you try, is unavoidable. When this happened I found that after applying the diaper cream and allowing the baby to be without a diaper (free to breath!) for extended periods of time helped hasten healing.
This is also amazing for adult diaper rash too!

Organic Coconut Oil: The combination of anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial & hydrating properties make this ingredient essential.
Organic Safflower Oil: Safflower oil is a natural anti-inflammatory agent that increases cell membrane integrity that protects you from high levels of toxins and bacteria in the air.
Organic Avocado Oil: Avocado oil is good for moisturizing dry, brittle, & damaged hair. But it also has a light weight formula that is easily absorbed into skin. It contains many nutrients such as vitamins A, B, D, E, protein, amino acids, iron, copper, magnesium, and folic acid.
Organic Jojoba Oil: The most nutrient rich & expensive botanical oil because of its similar molecular structure to sebum ( a natural oil your skin produces). It is reputed to have antibacterial properties. It also soothes the scalp and can be used to treat dry skin problems.
Organic Grapeseed Oil: The flavonoid 'oligomeric procyanidin', found in grape seed oil, is about 50 times stronger than antioxidants like, vitamin C and E. So, this compound can provide protection against cellular and tissue damage caused by free radicals.
Organic Argan Oil: Is full of vitamin E & antioxidants, which are needed for treating & preventing acne, is anti-inflammatory, and is moisturizing. It is full of essential fatty acids. This will keep your skin elastic, preventing aging and wrinkles.
To use: Shake well before each use. Wash your face, chest and neck (this is best to use right after a shower). Keeping those areas wet, put 3-4 DROPS into the palm of your hand and rub palms together Start at the top of your chest working over your neck and then around your face concentrating on troubled spots such as the outer corners of your eyes etc. Take care not to get any oil in your eyes.
Allow to soak in and do its job naturally.

Who likes chapped lips? No one! So we buy whatever we can without really giving any consideration (or at least much consideration) to the active ingredients within. Lip Balms give comfort, and can make dry parched lips even drier. That's because most commercial brands are 75% bees wax which makes lips even drier. In other words dehydrating enough that you want to re-apply (you want that soothing feeling over and over) but every time you apply it you dehydrate your lips even more. It may feel soothing on chapped lips but it most likely creating those pesky lip lines
Winter brings the cold and damp which make things worse. Summer is not any better with the hot sun beating down and making you want to lick your lips for moisture. Your balm may promise relief but what you are paying for may not be helping the situation.
Lip balms that contain Humectants such as Hyaluronic Acid or Glycerin and Bees Wax make already dry lips worse." says, Dermatologist Leslie Bauman, M.D. "They actually pull the moisture from your skin!"
We, here at Sweet Harvest Farms, use Humectants like Organic Shea Butter, Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, and Organic Castor Oil Shea to create a physical barrier to prevent water loss. We also add organic Vitamin E and just the tiniest pinch of Bees Wax (Occlusive). Humectants hold on to water, and Occlusives keep it from evaporating,” explains Dr. Baumann. "Without Occlusives, the moisture that the Humectants pull out simply vanishes on the surface of the skin, leaving lips drier than they were in the first place". It doesn't mean you should avoid Humectants in your lip balm, you just need to make sure it also has occlusive agents as well.
Then there are Cermaides that hold skin together to form a protective layer helping to prevent moisture loss and damage from cold, dry, and other environmental stressors. Ceramide also help to keep your skin supple. All the oils we use contain these as well.
We have developed a recipe that leaves your lips soothed and supple without have to re-apply over and over. We refer to it as "Lip Smoothie" NOT Lip Balm! The little glass tub will last for months and months since very little is needed. You may use a q-tip or a clean finger to apply. Can go under or ever your lipstick as well.
*Jojoba oil contain 96% of ceramides while also containing antibacterial and anti- inflammatory properties.
*Shea Butter too is high in ceramides and help with deep reconstructing and balancing of your skins natural oils.
*Castor oil not only adds shine but also penetrates the skin to fight bacteria that can clog pores while hydrating at the same time.
*Coconut oil is a natural moisturizer and it helps keep the moisture of your lips intact keeping them soft, hydrated and can also reduce inflammation caused by sun damage.
*Vitamin E (Tocopherol) is an anti-oxidant that helps to repair damaged tissue.
Our Lip Smoothie recipe combines all these ingredients that will make a difference in your "puckering power"! We don't use fancy-shmancy synthetic flavored oils either. A simple organic Peppermint/Lemongrass essential oil is just enough to say "Hmm-mmm good"!

Health care professionals can diagnose cradle cap by the way the skin looks and where the rash is. Cradle Cap usually clears up on its own but you can do something to help loosen and remove the scales that from on your baby's scalp.
If the dermatitis spreads or skin becomes red, warm or inflamed it is best to seek medical attention for your baby as it could be a sign of an infection.
Wash your baby's head with Oh Baby Oh organic soap being careful not to not let any soap get into the babies eyes. Pat dry gently with a paper towel and then throw the towel away. Apply a tiny amount of Oh Baby Oh Heads Up Cradle Cap ointment rubbing gently into the baby's scalp and let it sit for about 30 minutes or longer. You may then take a soft bristle baby's hair brush or soft bristled tooth brush and gently try to brush the scales away.

Since sweating is your body’s natural cooling mechanism (in some cases you could actually die if you didn’t sweat) you have to think that commercial products must be using potent ingredients to keep you from sweating! Here is a list of what many over the counter products contain:
Aluminum–Evidence links aluminum not only to to cancer, but also Alzheimer’s Disease
Formaldehyde - Is a well known carcinogen. You can find this in carpets too (that’s another debate for a later time).
Phthalates - These are Endocrine disruptors (can also be found in some plastics) and causes hormone imbalance and infertility
Parabens - This is a hormone disruptor. Also Parabens have been found in biopsied breast tissue that has been dissected due to breast cancer.
Antibacterial Ingredients - These too are endocrine disruptors and have can affect our immune system.
Propylene Gycol - You may know this as Antifreeze! Believe it or not this is in many cosmetic products. EEW!
Triclosan – Is a chemical used in cosmetics and deodorants to kill bacteria which can impair thyroid function.
