The Story Behind the Name

Welcome to Everetts Place

"Who is Everett?"

It's a question I get asked often — and it's the heartbeat of this entire boutique. Everett is my first grandson.

When he was born, my world completely shifted. Like any new grandparent, I wanted the absolute best for him — clothes soft against his delicate newborn skin, materials free of harsh chemicals, toys that would inspire his growing mind. But as I began researching and shopping, I quickly realized how overwhelming — and expensive — it was to work out what any of it was actually made of.

I decided then that parents and grandparents shouldn't need to open twenty browser tabs and spend hours decoding confusing ingredient labels just to keep their babies safe.

That's how Everetts Place was born.

A Teacher's Perspective on Quality

My day job isn't running a boutique — I'm a full-time school teacher.

Walking into a classroom every day, I see the incredible diversity of families. Different income levels, varying struggles, and one universal constant: the love parents have for their children. I understand deeply that the best shouldn't only be accessible to a select few.

I brought a teacher's habit of reading the source material. I am a shopkeeper, not a laboratory — what I do is read what each brand publishes about its own materials and manufacturing, and choose accordingly. These are the five things I look at:

  • Fibre content — what the maker says the fabric actually is, in plain language
  • Finishes and treatments — what has been applied to the fabric, and whether the brand will tell me
  • Ethical manufacturing practices
  • Longevity — pieces that last through multiple growth spurts and washes
  • Real value — practical luxury that makes sense for real families

I have read the labels and the brand's own material information so you are not starting from scratch. Where a brand holds a certification, that certification is theirs — I pass on what they state rather than testing it myself.

Our Mission

To make well-made baby essentials easier to find and afford — not just for the families who have hours to spend comparing labels. We believe every baby deserves the good stuff, and every parent deserves the confidence of knowing exactly what's touching their child's skin.

We are proudly women-led, family-owned, and rooted in Canon City, Colorado. A portion of every sale supports Red, White & Babies — an organization providing essentials to military and first responder families.
