A Day of Remembrance: Honoring Our Heroes This Memorial Day

As we pause this weekend to mark Memorial Day 2026, our hearts and thoughts turn to the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

While this holiday weekend often signifies the joyous beginning of summer, it is first and foremost a solemn day of remembrance. Here at Everetts Place, this day holds a deeply personal resonance. As the proud child of an honorably discharged Navy veteran, I grew up understanding the profound dedication, bravery, and sacrifice that military service demands—not just from those who wear the uniform, but from the families who support them.

We know that freedom is not free. Today, we honor the fallen. We remember their courage, their selflessness, and their unwavering commitment to protecting the lives and liberties we hold so dear. We also extend our deepest gratitude, love, and sympathies to the Gold Star families who carry the enduring weight of their loss.

To those who have served, those who are serving, and to the families who have given everything: we thank you.
